If your Affordable Dentures break in normal use during the first year, Dr. Day will repair or replace, at his option, the denture at no charge.

Normal Use

Now, of course, the question naturally arrises as to what exactly is normal use.  At the risk of over simplification, normal use means avoiding the same things that will break natural teeth.  A few (but not all) examples of things that are known to break natural teeth are as follows:

• Chewing ice, corn nuts, hard candies, etc.
• Chewing or gnawing on rib bones, chicken bones, etc.
• Biting pens, pencils, etc.
• Squeezing, clenching, grinding, gnashing, etc., during waking or sleeping (take them out at night!)

Other (but not all) examples of things that do not fall into the normal use category are:

• Dropping your dentures
• Putting them into your pocket and sitting on them
• Putting them into your pocket book sitting on them
• Running over your dentures with your car (yes, it happens)
  
• Your pet chews your dentures (yes, that too)
• You try to repair them yourself and it doesn't work
• You drop them overboard while fishing
  

 Dental Acrylic

Please remember that the pink denture bases are made of dental acrylic. Acrylic is a type of plastic.

  There is no unbreakable dental acrylic! 

There are dozens of manufacturers and grades of dental acrylic.  None are unbreakable!  Dr. Day uses an acrylic specially developed for Affordable Denture practices by the amazing folks at Affordable Dentures Dental Laboratories  but it still is not unbreakable!

Often patients seem surprised by this fact thinking that dentures are somehow unbreakable.  In answer to this Dr. Day makes the following challenge:  "Bring me any lower denture made by any dentist in the world, by any dental lab in the world, made out of any dental acrylic in the world and I'll break it in one hand".

So far no one has taken Dr. Day up on this challenge.  We actually hope they will.  If there is an unbreakable dental acrylic (approved for use in the US), WE WILL USE IT!

So please remember that while Dr. Day maintains a "bend over backwards" service attitude your cooperation is essential to ensure you get the maximum use from your dentures.
